KM Class of ’67 Reunion Committee
Meeting Notes from Saturday, Sept.17, 2016
Classmates Present: Antonette (Kahoun) Benham, Steve Whitehead, Melody (Cain) Ickes, Kathy (Gregory) Pickard, Greg Bailey, Louse (Trumbull) Schmutzler, Francine (Conwell) Nelson, Linda (Knapp) Rogers, Leslie (Moon) Meisner, Mike Terry, Nancy Lyle and Dave Johnson.
Guest: Sherry (Moon) Klein attended with her sister, Leslie. Sherry is a member of the KM Class of 66 reunion planning committee and shared her reunion planning experiences with our committee
1 )Minutes accepted: The minutes from our June 11, 2016 meeting were approved as written.
2) Financial Report:
A)Primary account – $1343.16
B)Scholarship account – $660.84
C)The deposit of $500.00 was paid to Green River College (GRC) for Saturday night
4) Green River College (GRC):
A) Nancy Lyle reported on several food options for our Saturday night event. No decision
was made regarding the menu as more information will be presented at our next
meeting.
B) Alyce, Leslie, Francine and possibly Louise will be meeting with Patty Sherman of
GRC to look at the student union main facility and discuss decorations for our Saturday
night event.
5) Flyer / Registration: Antonette will work on a rough draft of a flyer and submit it for review and final approval via email to committee members. She will (snail) mail out and email the flyer to all classmates with snail mail and email addresses.
6) KM Class of 66 and Pay It Forward: Jeanne Stewart sent an email to Antonette and Dave regarding recommendations based on her experience while working the KM 66 Reunion reception table. Sherry Klein thanked us for our help and is working with her KM 66 committee to provide the same service for our 50 year reunion. In turn, we plan to offer the same service to the KM 68 committee and recommend they do the same for the KM 69 Class. A copy of Jeanne’s recommendations will be forwarded to our committee members.
7) Committees:
A) Golf: Susan (Moore) Newman, Greg and Dave have golfed or visited several Kent area courses to determine the best course for our golf event and post golf socializing on Friday, July 21st, 2017.
B) Photography: Mike Terry has a good friend who is a professional photographer and will ask him if he would be the photographer for our events.
C) Luncheon: The committee decided to hold a Friday luncheon for all classmates.
KM Banner: Melodie will bring the banner we have used at past reunions to our next meeting to see if it will work for our 50th reunion.
D) Master of Ceremonies: Larry Albert has accepted our invite to MC our Saturday night event. Linda, Leslie and Dave will meet with Larry to discuss parameters of the task.
E) Elementary Pictures Display: Melodie is asking classmates to send their grade school pictures to her so she can compile a display for our events.
F) KM Campus Tour: The tour is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, July 22nd, 2017 at 11;00 am. KM High School Vice Principal has volunteered to host our tour at no cost. However, we may need to pay provide insurance for the activity.
8) BINGO socializing activity: Antonette will organize this for our Saturday night event.
9) Next Meeting: Saturday, January 21st, 2017 at 1:00 at the Golden Steer. Lunch is at 12 noon for those interested.
